So is it just me or have the last few weeks crawled by…I guess the last few days of boring January are sure to be slow but I’ve been feeling kind of stir crazy. Nothing going on! I think (and hope) that this will be the most boring month of the year, so I’m making a point to have something planned for every other month.

Thankfully I still managed to have some good favorites for the boring month. One of my biggest favorites I kind of already mentioned. Laurel is sleeping through the night! Or basically is. The last two nights she has slept from about 8pm to 5am. Amazing! I’m so loving it. If she does wake up during the night it is usually just once, maybe twice and she goes right back down to sleep in her crib after I feed her. I can totally handle that.

She is definitely growing and so is her little personality.

She smiles all the time and giggles now too which is so stinking adorable. She also can be a handful now too. Her witching hour is about 5pm till we put her down. She can get real fussy and nothing particularly suits her. But I try to keep patient and just figure out what she needs or distract her. She has been so fun though, is my gym buddy.

I can’t wait to see her grow even more. I may or may not already be thinking about her 1st birthday party!! IT’S PINTEREST’S FAULT.

So other than sleeping through the night, my other favorites are mainly food related. But guys, I’m a foodie. It’s what I love. So just bear with me. I found a few good healthy finds. I already shared the new healthy-ish snacks in my last post, but I have a few more things. And some aren’t healthy. Here goes!

Hidden Veggies Pasta

Need an easy way to sneak in some veggies for your family? This is one of my favorite ways to do that! This pasta tasted absolutely no different to me than normal pasta except with it you are getting in a serving of vegetables. I’ll take any way I can to get in those pesky things. I actually made this pasta with Boca Meatless Crumbles for a healthy, meatless meal without telling Josh. He didn’t even notice a difference at all from our regular spaghetti. That’s a win! I’ll be buying this from now on.

Beef Jerky

Jerky is such a great snack. Low fat, low calorie, and very high in protein. I’ve been grabbing jerky on road trips for a snack or as part of a meal. It’s so satisfying! I actually eat a whole bag at a time. I can get 200 something calories with like 30g protein, 3g fat. I’m not a big meat person but I do love some jerky. I typically get the teriyaki flavor. The only downside is it is a little pricey. But worth it every now and then!

Josh’s Chicken and Waffles

Josh made Chicken and Waffles the other night and I am shook. It was so freaking good. We cooked the chicken in the Aveda cooker I’ve mentioned before and then coated it in a fried chicken specific flour coating. He fried that on up and made Belgium waffles and boom, chicken and waffles. We added in some pure maple syrup and some mimosas and it was a night of bliss. I definitely want this to be in our dinner rotation though it is not exactly the picture of health. But sure was tasty!

RX Bar

So I just mentioned these little guys in my snack post but since then I’ve tried some new flavors. I actually ordered a variety pack off their website. It came with the Dark Chocolate and Sea Salt and the Chocolate Peanut Butter which I had already tried. Since then I’ve tried Blueberry, Peanut Butter. I admit, I didn’t LOVE the blueberry. It was a little weird being fruity and it had big chunks of almonds in it which is not my favorite. The Peanut Butter however was probably my favorite so far. So delicious. I just love that they are made up of nothing but “real” food. Egg Whites, Almonds, Cashews, and Dates are all natural things that I feel good about putting in my body.

Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate Brownies

These are dark chocolate so they are basically healthy, right?! I say so. I made these the other week and as per usual when it comes to brownies, me likey. I’m coming around to dark chocolate more. If they have a dark chocolate option I’ll try it. I already knew that the Ghirardelli brownies are some of the best out there so I figured I wouldn’t regret getting them. And I didn’t! Totally recommend!

Muscle Maker Grill

Josh and I have been patiently waiting for this place to open up here on post. It finally did and we are so glad! As the name hints, the Muscle Maker Grill has only healthy options and also has a meal prep plan you can buy. The first time we went I just got a smoothie because I had just worked out but Josh got a Teriyaki bowl that was super. The second time I got the salad bar and soup they have and Josh got a burger. Also very good! I just love restaurants that give options that make you feel good when you leave, not like a ton of bricks. I can get behind that. I’m enjoying supporting this business and will continue to do so. It’s been fun to try new things! We may even try their meal prep sometime!

Worst Cooks In America

Who knows, I may have mentioned this show in a favorites before. But I do love it. I use to watch Food Network ALL THE TIME. It was kind of ridiculous. Now I rarely do, but this show sucks me back in. They get a bunch of people who can’t cook to save their lives and them put them on two famous chef’s teams (Anne Burrel and Tyler Florence). They teach them how to cook and they make dishes based on the theme of each episode. It’s a really fun show and by the end of it they actually cook pretty well. I usually learn a thing or two myself!

The Upper Room Devotional

My grandma use to get me this devotional and since she passed I haven’t read them anymore. I’ve been wanting to get better about reading a devotion, so I asked for this for Christmas from my parents. They got it for me and I’ve really been enjoying it since. The readings are short and easy to read. It is a great way for me to start my mornings and get my attitude straight and focused on what matters!

That sums up January’s favorites! February will be easy because it is one of my favorite months already! It’s my birthday month plus Valentine’s Day which I don’t really care that much about, but I love that the month is filled with the color pink, hearts, chocolate and buttercream 🙂

Have a wonderful week!!
